End of Beet Season Campaign

Monday, June 13, 2011

The beet deliveries arrived from all over the Delta region, some as far away as 300 kilometres. This years’ crop made some of our manufacturing goals a little more difficult to achieve. However, we were still able to celebrate and to feel proud of a couple of internal Nile Sugar records: highest daily beet sliced achievement, and highest quantity of white sugar bagged in one day. Such achievements are only possible when all sections of the company work in harmony as one complete team.

The quality of the sugar produced this year was exceptional and easily meeting the EEC Grade 2 quality points system rating in all other areas. Another major quality achievement in the first half of the campaign was accreditation to ISO 9001 Quality Assurance, which should give all of our current and future customers confidence in their business dealings with Nile Sugar. This was celebrated by presenting our sugar in a new style of 50 kg bag bearing our striking new gold company logo.

Whilst the Campaign is now over, and many employees thoughts turn towards “normal” working hours, and maybe a spot of annual leave, plans and activities are already initiated in readiness for Raw Sugar Refining season which should get into full swing during August 2011.
